On November 18th, Vanessa Mamani was rescued from falling down a 75 foot well in Argentina. It took rescue workers and firefighters 6 hours to rescue the three-year-old from the irrigation well in Buenos Aires. The well was too narrow for rescuers to go down and retrieve her, so the child had to attach herself on the harness. When she made it to the top of the well, the firefighters and workers were completely thrilled. Shockingly, there were only minor injuries on the child when she arrived at the hospital. The rescue even attracted many politicians in Argentina. Daniel Scio, part of the Buenos Aires government, waited with the rescuers on top of the well. Cristina Kirchner, the president of Argentina, called the rescue a "miracle" when she visited the girl in the hospital.
